As part of our efforts to support Joe’s wife and four month-old daughter, we have erected a keg wall at Beerhouse on Long. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Lakeside Beerworks, Woodstock Brewery, Jack Black, The Belgian Beer Co., Apollo Brewing, Cape Brewing Company (CBC) and Windermere, we are able to offer our patrons the chance to make a donation to the Kanyona family and pull a pint in honour of Joe.
Interested parties can also make a donation on our donation page, which has seen an overwhelming response from the public so far. Thank you to everyone who has shown their support; we are overwhelmed and extremely grateful for your kindness.
Next months “Meet The Brewer” we will be showcasing a brand new brewery. Woodstock Brewery has been a long time coming and beerlovers around Cape Town have been anticipating sampling there brew. Andre Viljoen, owner and brains behind the venture has been sure to assemble his brewery with the utmost of care and has assembled a fantastic group of brewers with world wide experience to work on his beer recipes. As their name would suggest they are all about sex, drugs and rock& roll synonymous with the debauchery of the 60’s music festival. They also make beer, and there first batches are superb. There aptly named Californicator is a real highlight. At last another American West Coast style IPA to revile the great Blockhouse. Its malt backbone stays with the beer even though the hop bitterness is the star of the show. At 7.2% the Californicator is not for the faint hearted and is sure to be a winner with those who crave a good IPA bomb. There range extends to an accomplished unfiltered Pilsner and a Belgian Amber. We cant wait to taste the beers again and pair it with food for our “Meet The Brewer” Event. Join us and Woodstock Brewery on Monday the 22nd of September for an Q&A with the brewers at Woodstock Brewery, a free tasting of there range and an optional food pairing. Please purchase your tickets for the food pairing at Webtickets
