You may have heard of International Beer day (also BEERHOUSE on Longs birthday) but have you heard about South African National Beer Day?
South African National Beer day better know by it’s hashtag #SANBeerday is an excellent excuse to have some delicious craft beer.
This day has been decided on by the craft beer community and has been a well supported day around the country. Brewers, taprooms, restaurants and bars are encouraged to do some sort of special promotion or event specially for this day.
Will BEERHOUSE rise to the occasion? Naturally.
How does BEERHOUSE celebrate? With BOTTOMLESS BEER, of course.
Join us on 2nd February from 12h00 at BEERHOUSE on Long or BEERHOUSE Fourways for our #SANBeer Day: Battle of the Taps competition.
We have invited some of SA’s favourite local craft brewers to join us for a mini BOTTOMLESS BEER festival. Grab your tickets online (via Quicket) and you can enjoy 8 hours of BOTTOMLESS BEER.
Each ticket holder will receive a #yellow token to vote for their favourite beer on the day. At the end of the festival we will tally the votes and announce the winners.
The Beer/Brewery that wins first place will win a 6 month tap on our winter beer menu. Second place will win a 4 month tap and third place will win a 2 month tap. So if you want to drink more of your favourite beer at the festival in the foreseeable future make sure that you cast your vote and rally your fellow beerlovers!
Thanks to our dedicated BeerLovers, we have sold all of our donated beer for this years Pint for a Purpose project.
Pint for a Purpose is a project started by the Beerhouse team in July 2014, since then we have raised money towards our charity partners De Tyger Leo Club and Tygerberg Hills Lions Club soup kitchens, feeding schemes and eye screenings in our local community based in the Cape Town area.
This years brewers that donated beer towards our dedicated Pints for a Purpose Tap are; Darling Brew, Devil’s Peak Brewing Company, Hazeldean Brewing Co., The Red Rock Brewing Co., Soweto Gold, Drifter Brewing Company, Atlantic Storm, Striped Horse, Little Wolf, St. Francis Brewing Company, CBC, Mitchell’s and Jack Black’s Brewing Company
Together with our brewers and you, the BeerLover, we have raised a total of R9 391.30 at Beerhouse Fourways and R18 460.52 at Beerhouse on Long.
The Beerhouse Team together with the Midrand Lions Club plan to do a refurbishment of a local educare in the Tembisa area. To read more about this project click HERE.
In Cape Town the teams have been working on an eye-screening project where they have successfully screened 495 pupils of the Vrije Zee Preparatory School of which 146 pupils needed to go for further screening to determine whether or not they will need spectacles.
The aim of this eye-screening project is to give children the access to their education and unlock their potential in the classroom. As we can see from the statistics, 1 in every 3 children have issues with their sight. Read more about this project HERE.
Thank you to everyone who is involved in this project, and we look forward to Pints for a Purpose 2019!
