Featuring: Wesley “Breezy” Gwaze
Wesley, Beerhouse Long Street’s very own King Kool, hails all the way from Zimbabwe. He still visits frequently as his family are still living at their family home. After finishing school, Wesley; who dreamed of being a businessman like his dad; spread his wings and hit the road – hard. He first sought his fortunes in Johannesburg before meandering over to Durban. It was not long before The Mother City called his name and he answered – by joining Beerhouse as a Bartender. Wesley has been a Navigator with Beerhouse Long Street for over 2 years and is still going strong. Having been recently elected by unanimous vote as the Staff Champion, Wesley is the The Ice-Man, always cool; calm and collected no matter what the circumstances. In another life, Wesley was an IPA – simply because he’s just as popular as an IPA!
3 reasons why Wesley loves being a Navigator at Beerhouse:
1. “The Teamwork. Especially behind the bar; we get along so well. It’s great camaraderie”
2. “Being a Beer Curator. I love all the beers we have. It’s so different and there are so many”
3. “The Education. I’ve learned so much here and I’m still learning”
Wesley’s WHY… his reasons for working at Beerhouse are very simple: “I make good money. It’s a great environment – everyone works well together. I’ve got a great team. And I can educate others about Beer and the styles we have. I love that. Teaching other people about Beer. Getting them to love it too.”
