Coronavirus and Beerhouse

BEERHOUSE is OPEN again after the global pandemic! We are back to our purpose of connecting people and beers in our safe and yellow places of happiness! Please check the Long Street, Tygervalley and Time Square (Pretoria) branch pages for current opening times, events and offers. Lockdown made us lose many jobs, 6+ months turnover and most of our stock. As we reopen, we are busy rebuilding our beer variety with the goal to bring our full variety of 99 different beers again and ask you for your understanding if the current experience differs from the one you got to love!

Leadership through the Coronavirus!

When lockdown hit and all restaurants were forced to close and staff laid off we were not quiet for long but quickly started brewing something up.

First to reopen our kitchen for those in need:

BEERHOUSE was a pioneer and we opened up our kitchen to provide for those that needed our help the most. BEERHOUSE team and our kitchens were converted to soup kitchens and brewed thousands of liters of soup that were then distributed by our partners at Ladles of Love, The Hebron Project and private initiatives to communities that needed it most. Our example was followed by dozens of other restaurants and then breweries that realized they could use their now empty beer brewing kettles to boil THOUSANDS OF LITERS A DAY, letting us support them rather than boiling our own soup…

Connecting the industry:

The Hospitality Industry was one of the biggest victims of the Coronavirus lockdown and our very yellow BEERHOUSE founder Randolf Jorberg established the “Hospitality Leadership” group for 200+ South African hospitality owners that is going strong one year later and connecting the humans running the industry in ways that no industry body managed to connect and assist them in times of crisis.

Fighting for what is right!

The lockdown also brought the organized crime out and it was our founder creating an initiative against Gangster syndicates extorting hospitality and further and he started connecting business owners, politicians, police officers and media in the ‘Cape Town Racketeers’ lobbying group, creating massive media attention, new political initiatives and making him the target of death threats and being tracked by Charl Kinnear murder accused Zane Kilian and Mr X.

BEERHOUSE needs a strong operational partner!

Due to our founder now staying overseas and having to focus on his ‘visionary’ role we are looking for an experienced hospitality professional fitting the ‘integrator’ role to join BEERHOUSE and help us grow the concept all over South Africa. We have a strong brand with a track record across the country and want to expand as the industry rebuilds post-crisis! Contact Randolf if you are interested in expanding a unique brand and concept!
