Since the coronavirus has broken in South African and the President announced the Nationwide lockdown on Monday, 23rd March, we have had to temporarily lay off over 80 staff.
We are calling on all of our supporters far and wide to help us to raise money so that our staff have a chance to support their families during the lockdown times

The restaurant industry, like many industries, is under distress and the team at the BEERHOUSE is extremely motivated to ensure that we survive these unprecedented times.
We have paid all of our staff up until the end of March 2020, however due to the nature of this business if we do not make turnover there is no reserves to help support the 80+ employees that were on our payroll (our goal is to retain all of our staff and give ALL of them their jobs back as soon as we are able to trade without restrictions).
100% of the profits from this fundraiser will be given to our staff to help them through these times where they won’t be earning any money.
Beerhouse has applied for the UIF relief schemes to help support the staff. However, we know this process will take time before our staff will see any money from the government.
This money is incredibility essential for our staffs’ survival. They will be able to feed and look after their families during these uncertain times.
We do not know how long the lockdown will last and we want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to look after our staff who live from hand to mouth.
100% of the profits raised will be divided up between the staff within their tax threshold.
We have three types of staff: hourly paid, fixed salary and HQ salary.
Each of these divisions has a maximum cap that they are allowed to receive. Our main aim is to support the bulk of the staff that are hourly paid as they are the majority of the staff compliment.
