Beer & Food presentation with ICT Chef students

The Beerhouse visited Infinity Culinary Training students on Monday. The NGO based at Moyo in Kirstenbosch Gardens is dedicated to improving lives through cooking. The course lasts six weeks and trains the students in culinary arts and empowers them with skills and self confidence. Armed with a signed copy of Lucy Corne’s “African Brew” we gave a presentation on beer & food. the presentation covered  a brief history of beer, the brewing process,  beer styles, cooking with beer and food matching. The students were very receptive and engaging and were a pleasure to present to. We will be taking on a couple of the graduated students when we open and are looking forward to working with ICT chefs in the future. We donated our signed copy of “African Brew” to the school so they can develop their understanding of beer as a food ingredient.
